Overview
GHD Graduate Program 2026 – Civil Graduate – Wollongong. The two-year Graduate Development Program is designed to give you a smooth start to your consulting career. You'll work with peers, managers and mentors to tackle challenges in the transport sector, with the Rail team delivering innovative solutions to keep trains moving and infrastructure resilient. GHD has been employee-owned since 1928, with about 11,000 people in over 160 offices across five continents.
Responsibilities
* Support the team to deliver major rail projects and contribute to these projects.
* Design and optimise track structures and alignments for safe, efficient, and high‑performance rail networks.
* Understand client and project technical requirements, assist to develop solutions, and contribute to technical reports, designs and specifications, proposals and presentations.
* Tackle complex challenges in special trackwork and transit space design, ensuring curves, turnouts and crossovers meet exacting standards.
Program structure
Our two‑year Graduate Development Program provides exposure to design teams, bids and tenders, and occasional site work. In year one, the focus is on fundamentals of consulting to help you find your rhythm in the industry. In year two, you'll have flexibility to deepen your technical development or learn from mentors.

Selection process
1. Screening: Applications are reviewed as they are received, with most screening occurring after applications close.

3. Meet the team: An interview with your prospective team to discuss your skills and experience and to get to know us.
4. Psychometric assessments: Short tests to understand your working style and strengths relative to the role.
5. Offer: If successful, we'll discuss salary, start date and background checks.
