Launceston

Posted: 22 May
Offer description

You're a resourceful leader who thinks of solutions using what's already available.

You're a forward thinker who sees potential where others don't. You'll have the chance to shape and transform urban spaces, contribute to sustainable development and create vibrant, liveable communities for future generations to enjoy.

In this role, you'll:

Lead the strategic delivery of compulsory land acquisition activities to support major infrastructure projects, ensuring land access is secured in a timely, compliant and ethically sound manner. You'll provide expert oversight and governance across statutory acquisition processes, balancing legislative requirements, government policy and project delivery priorities.

You'll act as a key advisor to executives, project leaders and government stakeholders on complex and sensitive land acquisition matters, including compensation, disputes and statutory approvals. This role requires sound judgement, strong probity and the ability to navigate competing priorities while maintaining trust and confidence with landowners and stakeholders.

Leading a specialist team, you'll drive continuous improvement across compulsory acquisition frameworks, uplift capability, and foster a consistent, transparent and customer-focused approach to land access. You'll also build strong partnerships across government and industry to ensure alignment, collaboration and successful project outcomes.

About you

You're an experienced leader with deep expertise in compulsory land acquisition and statutory land processes, ideally within a large infrastructure or government environment. You bring a strong understanding of relevant legislation and a track record of managing complex, high-profile acquisition programs with significant financial and community impact.

You're confident operating in sensitive environments, with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining fairness, transparency and integrity in decision-making. Your stakeholder engagement skills are a standout—you build trust quickly and can navigate challenging conversations with landowners, government agencies and senior leaders.

You're also a capable people leader who develops high-performing teams, drives consistency in practice, and champions continuous improvement. With strong judgement, communication and problem-solving skills, you're comfortable providing strategic advice and influencing outcomes across complex, multi-project environments.
