Operational Risk Consultant
We are currently building our practice of experienced Operational Risk Consultants to support a large-scale enterprise Non-Financial Risk (NFR) remediation program within a leading APRA-regulated financial services environment. These opportunities sit within Line 1 and Line 2 Risk and focus on strengthening operational risk governance, remediation oversight, accountability, and risk culture across complex enterprise environments.
We are seeking experienced risk professionals capable of providing independent challenge, influencing senior stakeholders, identifying systemic risk themes, and supporting sustainable operational risk uplift.
Essential Capabilities
* Providing Line 2 operational risk oversight and independent challenging
* Assessing operational risk exposures, controls, and remediation activities
* Supporting uplift of operational risk and non-financial risk frameworks
* Reviewing incidents, audit findings, compliance breaches, and remediation actions
* Identifying systemic risk themes and emerging operational risks
* Supporting risk appetite monitoring and governance reporting
* Preparing executive and board-level risk insights and reporting
* Challenging remediation effectiveness and closure quality
* Supporting prudential, regulatory, and governance initiatives
* Working closely with business, risk, compliance, audit, and remediation teams
* Driving stronger accountability, escalation, and governance outcomes
Highly Desirable Capabilities
* Experience operating within large complex organisations
* Strong stakeholder management and executive communication capability
* Ability to provide independent and evidence-based challenge
* Experience supporting remediation or risk uplift initiatives
* Strong governance and risk framework understanding
* Ability to identify systemic operational risk patterns
* Confidence operating in high-accountability environments
* Strong written reporting and presentation skills
