We are seeking highly motivated Radiation Oncologists to join the Northern Cancer Service (NCS), which operates radiation therapy sites in Launceston and Burnie.
About the Northern Cancer Service
The Northern Cancer Service provides comprehensive and integrated cancer care, offering state-of-the-art medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology services to a population of approximately 250,000 people across Northern Tasmania.
Locations and Services:
* Burnie: Coastal city on Tasmania’s northwest coast, currently operating as a single-machine unit, linked to Launceston, with recent expansion to a second linear accelerator.
* Launceston (W.P. Holman Clinic): Larger facility with capacity for up to three linear accelerators, with three Radiation Oncologists and one advanced trainee, and plans for additional trainee positions.

Details of Appointment
* Position: Permanent, full-time, 76 hours per fortnight, daytime work, on-call duties for Launceston. Negotiable fixed-term hours.
* Start Date: As soon as possible.
* Location: To be discussed (Launceston or Burnie).
Note: The selection process may fill similar vacancies for twelve months from the publication date.
The remuneration aligns with the current Specialist Medical Practitioner Award for Tasmania, with additional rural allowances for Burnie positions.
Salary Range: $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, with eligibility for Senior Specialist levels based on criteria.
Mandatory requirements include specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia, fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, and a current driver’s license.
Pre-employment checks include conviction and disciplinary checks.
