The role of a Business Development Representative at Canonical
We consider our sales development organization to be the best technology sales academy in the market, selecting exceptional and ambitious candidates. If you are organized, persistent, charismatic, and hardworking, and interested in tech and its business implications, this role is for you. You will collaborate with regional sales and marketing teams, aiming to find customer projects that fit our product lines and promote Canonical across various industries and geographies.
The role entails
Execute outbound sales & marketing campaigns
Research prospective customers and market trends
Generate high-quality leads for Senior Sellers to build a pipeline
Own and close SMB opportunities within your territory
Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to drive results
Help define team processes and policies
Travel to events and conferences worldwide, representing Canonical
What we are looking for in you
Proven success in SDR or outbound sales, exceeding quotas and growing qualified pipeline
Experience engaging with senior executives to identify opportunities
Background in enterprise software or technology sales
Strong academic record from high school and university
Passion for business and technology
Commitment to continuous learning, curiosity, flexibility
Creative problem-solving and teamwork skills
Excellent English communication and presentation skills
Negotiation skills and result-driven attitude
Persistence and perseverance
Growth mindset, with potential to develop across sales departments
Ability to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks
