Overview
Established in ****, Bacchus Marsh College is the only state secondary school servicing the town of Bacchus Marsh. The College values respect, responsibility, and effort, and it offers a comprehensive curriculum with pathways for literacy, numeracy, science, and VCE/VET studies.
Location Profile
The College is located approximately 150m from Bacchus Marsh Railway Station on the Ballarat/Melbourne line, providing easy access for teachers from Ballarat and Melbourne. The College boasts state-of-the-art facilities including a Science and Technology Centre, Materials Technology facility, Food Technology, Hospitality and Cultural spaces, and a dedicated area for the 'Avenue' program.
Selection Criteria

Role
The Education Support class position supports teachers and students under the direction of the principal or manager. Roles include:
Providing routine support and coordination of specific educational tasks.
Assisting teachers with planning, routine student care, and communication with parents.
Supporting medical and wellbeing interventions (where qualified).
Coordinating and supervising small groups of students (up to 4).
Technical support in libraries, science, ICT, and other disciplines as required.
Responsibilities
Provide routine support for teachers, including planning student routines.
Support communication between teachers and parents.
Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students.
Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
Support students to comprehend basic tasks and information.
Address immediate behaviour presentations within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure.
Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
Assist teachers with the coordination of educational programmes independently or under minimal supervision.
Provide medical intervention support to a student/s, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance.
Provide specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and braille.
