Genus is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate, competitive tenders across utilities, construction and resources projects. This senior role will see you apply your technical expertise, leadership and commercial insight to directly influence project wins and business growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Estimating or Pre-Contracts Manager, you will lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tenders while mentoring junior estimators and driving best-practice estimating processes.
You will be responsible for analysing drawings and documentation, preparing time, labour and material costings, managing multiple bids concurrently and ensuring submissions are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive tenders and commercial quotations
* Analyse drawings, specifications and documentation to develop detailed cost estimates
* Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
* Develop and maintain cost databases and supplier directories
* Review schedules of rates in collaboration with operations
* Support negotiations and sign off on technical, commercial and financial aspects of bids
* Attend tender briefings and contribute strategic estimating advice
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Senior Estimating or Management role
* Strong background in utilities, construction and/or resources sectors (desirable)
* High-level analytical, numerical and problem-solving capabilityExceptional attention to detail
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with estimating software
* Ability to interpret technical drawings
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Proven ability to work autonomously and lead others
