We are seeking a Regional Care Navigator (RCN) to join our Regional Engagement team, delivering meaningful, community-based initiatives that improves the wellbeing of carers across the Gippsland region.
About the role
The Regional Care Navigator plays a key role in designing coordination and delivering group-based respite activities for unpaid carers within a designated Gippsland catchment. You'll be the 'on-the-ground' connector, building local partnerships, strengthening referral pathways and brining carers together through inclusive, impactful programs.

This regionally based role requires regular travel throughout the Gippsland catchment, including outer regional communities. Occasional overnight travel may also be required. A strong understanding of local communities and well-established regional networks will be essential to your success in this role.
You will work closely with local councils, community organisations, neighbourhood houses, health services, and carer groups to raise awareness of Carers Victoria, deliver engaging events and activities, and extend our reach to new carers.
What you'll be doing
Community Engagement & Partnerships
* Build strong local networks across the Gippsland region, including councils, community organisations, health services and carer groups
* Increase awareness of Carers Victoria's services and create pathways to reach new carers
* Collaborate with partners to co-design or co-deliver events
Deliver group-based respite activities
* Design, coordinate and facilitate meaningful group-based respite activities for carers int eh region – such as wellbeing events, lunches, peer gatherings and community expos
* Travel regularly across catchment (with occasional overnight stays) to deliver activities and engage with local communities
* Collect and use feedback and participation data to improve and evolve activities
About you
You will thrive in this role if you are:
* Deeply connected to the Gippsland region with strong local networks
* A confident relationship building who enjoys being out in the community and partnering with local organisations
* Skilled in designing, planning and delivering events from small group activities to larger community gatherings
* Proactive, organised and self-directed, able to manage travel, scheduling and program delivery across a broad catchment
* Experienced in community engagement, program coordination, events, health, social services or a related field.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in social Work, counselling, psychology, community development, community services, or a related discipline, or significant experience in a comparable community-facing role
* Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for travel
* Current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake first aid training
* Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement

* Carers Victoria EBA Award Level 4 role (Above SCHADS award rates paid)
* Salary range of $92,494- $99,528 gross pro rata, plus superannuation
* Not-for-profit salary packaging available
* Hybrid working arrangement: a mix of working from home, potentially from place-based services in the region, regional travel within the catchment (with reimbursed costs), and monthly travel to the Melbourne office for team days. Regional travel within catchment may also require overnight stays.
