About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role with day shift hours from 7am to 3:30pm, working a 9-day fortnight.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for repairing glass container moulding equipment to ensure glass quality. Your duties will include preparation of mould dies and componentry for job changeover, cleaning and inspection of used dies, bench fitting duties to repair dies, and milling and lathe repairs on interchangeable parts for glass moulding machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Mould dies & componentry for Job Changeover process.
* Cleaning & inspection of used dies.
* Bench fitting duties to repair the dies such as welding, filing, hand grinding and polishing.
* Milling and lathe repairs on a few interchangeable parts for glass moulding machinery.
* You will work with a variety of hand tools, gauges & measuring equipment.
* Further to this, you may be required to assist in general plant maintenance duties to support the wider Plant Reliability Team.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Fitter/machinist trade qualification with milling and lathe experience in an industrial environment, preferably an Engineering or Toolmaking workshop.
* Previous experience working in an industrial environment, preferably in manufacturing.
* Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
* Good hand eye coordination and ability to problem solve.
* Previous TIG/MIG welding, operating CNC machines, tool making, and stores and goods inwards experience an advantage.
