NT WorkSafe is a division of the Attorney‑General's Department and is responsible for assisting business and workers understand their obligations under work health and safety, dangerous goods, electrical safety and workers compensation legislation across the Northern Territory.
As a Senior WorkSafe Inspector - Electrical you are responsible for conducting thorough and meticulous inspections and enquiries and enforcing compliance with legislation administered by NT WorkSafe. Working as part of a dedicated technical specialist team you will apply judgment, writing and regulatory compliance and enforce skills to contribute to the successful delivery of NT WorkSafe's statutory functions and strategic objectives.
Your key duties include performing regulatory functions in accordance with legislation, undertaking inspections, testing electrical installations and investigating electrical and workplace incidents. In addition, you will monitor electrical contractors to ensure their ongoing compliance with relevant legislation, collaborate with stakeholders to promote and encourage best practice and compliance, and represent the division at forums to deliver educational sessions.
To be successful, you MUST have a current unrestricted Electrical Mechanic's Licence or equivalent, demonstrated knowledge and experience in the electrical technical standards and a sound understanding, or ability to quickly gain an understanding of the principles of performance‑based legislation and preventative strategies.
