G.James manufactures precision extrusion dies used to form high-quality aluminium profiles. We are seeking a Process Worker/ Machine Operator to join our Toolroom team in Eagle Farm.
In this hands‐on role, you will operate Electro Discharge Machines (EDM) to produce and maintain extrusion die components to tight tolerances. This position will suit someone who enjoys precision machining, problem‐solving, and seeing components progress from raw material through to finished cavity.

The Role
* Set up and operate CNC Sinker EDM machines to manufacture extrusion die components
* Load programs, set electrodes, establish work offsets, and run production jobs
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
* Perform in‐process inspections using micrometres, verniers, height gauges, and CMM reports
* Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to achieve required burn speed, finish, and accuracy
* Clean die components ready for polishing
* Complete job records, cycle times, and traceability documentation
* Follow all Toolroom procedures relating to safety, maintenance, and housekeeping
What We're Looking For
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
* Strong attention to detail and quality focus
* Good mechanical aptitude and hands‐on skills
* Basic computer skills for machine operation and job tracking
* Commitment to workplace safety and following procedures
Highly Regarded
* Experience operating engineering machinery (e.g. EDM, mills, lathes, grinders)
* Background in toolmaking, die making, or precision machining
* Trade qualification in Toolmaking, Fitting & Machining, or similar
* Exposure to CAD/CAM or G‐code
