Internal Relief Optometrist | State based Role Are you an experienced optometrist who enjoys variety while still having a strong home base? We’re seeking a highly motivated Internal Relief Optometrist to support our practices primarily within your home state, with occasional interstate travel when required.
This role is designed for an adaptable clinician who thrives on clinical variety and the professional challenge of maintaining excellence across diverse practice environments.
In this role, you will act as the interim clinical owner during optometrist transitions such as planned and unplanned leave, providing professional stability and continuity of care for our patients. The role is primarily state based with a requirement for interstate deployment to support key network transitions as needed.

Skills
A recognised Optometry qualification with 2+ years’ practical experience
Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with patients
A genuine commitment to putting patients’ eye health first
An interest in optical style and fashion
A proactive approach to staying up to date with industry & clinical developments; proficiency in advanced diagnostic eyecare technology (OCT/ultrawide imaging) and the clinical confidence to translate complex findings into clear patient recommendations.
Flexibility and adaptability to work across different practice environments
Key Responsibilities
Provide relief optometry support within your state, stepping in during periods of leave or vacancies
Occasionally travel interstate to support practices when required
Deliver a consistently high standard of clinical care and customer experience
Follow established relief guidelines to ensure smooth transitions between practices
Collaborate with local teams, allied health providers, and specialists to ensure seamless clinical transitions and maintain continuity of care
Support operational efficiency while adapting to different practice settings
