Casual Support Worker role available in Ipswich, offering flexible shifts to support work–life balance, study, and caring commitments.
About The Role:
Make every day meaningful as a Support Worker at Northcott.
Our programs assist young people to learn social skills, independent living skills including cooking and travel training, with plenty of focus on creativity and wellbeing too. You will be supporting participants to access to the community and engage with peers.
In this role, you will:
* Provide personal care that promotes dignity and independence as required (e.g. showering, toileting, continence support).
* Support safe manual handling and mobility using hoists and other aids.
* Follow individual care plans to meet health needs such as epilepsy or wound care.
* Require Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Prepare meals and assist with mealtimes in line with mealtime management plans.
* Require a demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers
* Develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their individual care plans, as appropriate.
* Require experience supporting customers with psychosocial disability, Intellectual disability, physical disability, epilepsy and behaviours of concern.

Skills & Experience:
* A flexible approach to work — you are happy to support across various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
* Disability Industry experience.
* Experience in Mental Health and Behaviour Support Plans.
* You have experience supporting people with varying physical, cognitive or behavioural needs — and always lead with respect.
* The ability to stay calm, think quickly, and provide steady, confident support — even when things get challenging.
* A positive attitude, a team spirit, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals.
* You are confident with manual handling, PEG feeding, medication administration, and safe transport.
* You love learning, connecting, and helping others live more independently.
