About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for fully qualified Social Workers to join a supportive and dynamic team at the Mater Hospital - North Sydney. The role involves:
* Participating as a member of multidisciplinary teams.
* Ensuring a high level of social work practice is maintained consistent with professional standards as defined by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Committing to ongoing professional development and teaching through research, education and social work students.
* Participating in strategic planning and quality improvement activities.
* Participating in meetings of AASW Special Interest Groups and other groups of relevance to the delivery of a high-quality Social Work Service to patients at the Mater.
* Areas of work include oncology, palliative care, renal, ICU, general medicine, cardiac, acute orthopaedics.
* Ongoing Professional Development.
About You
Essential requirements
* Degree/Diploma in Social Work.
* Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Demonstrated experience/expertise in hospital setting.
* 1 year post graduate experience.
* Mid-week availability a must.
* Demonstrate behaviours that reinforce the core values of The Mater.
* Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise where necessary.
Desirable Criteria
* Ability to be flexible and dynamic with work hours.
* Experience or interest in palliative care.
* Experience working in a maternity ward or willingness to learn and upskill.
