Research Opportunity in Circular Economy
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of effective sustainability practices in Regional Circular Economy.
The successful candidate will conduct research into the implementation of circular economy solutions, with a focus on material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, and environmentally extended input-output analysis. They will collaborate with leading scientists, government, and industry partners to develop comprehensive material flow analyses and policy frameworks tailored to the needs of local and state governments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct case studies at state and local government levels, consulting with stakeholders, policymakers, industry partners, researchers, and other relevant parties.
* Develop circular economy indicators and provide policy advice to enhance material sustainability in Australia.
* Assess policy and data gaps, complemented by semi-structured interviews with policymakers, and evaluate data and information needs for circular economy policies.
* Research existing state-level data, collect data on resource extraction, use, and waste generation at the subnational level, and fill data gaps using established methodologies or develop new ones.
* Create balanced material flow accounts and leverage insights to identify opportunities to promote circular economy practices at various levels of government.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge in material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, and environmentally extended input-output analysis.
* Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
