We have a current opportunity for an
EQoL Network Engineer
, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in
Canberra, ACT
. The contract is for a
10 month period
.
Start: circa 02 March 2026
DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Specialist Engineering - Communications Network Engineering
The Network Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
* Support the rollout of the EQoL system across 52 vessels in the Navy.
* Refine Cross class designs to meet platform specific constraints. STW the EQoL system including configuring and installing network devices.
Minimum mandatory requirements:
* AGSVA Security clearance.
* Defence experience.
* Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
* Radius AAA experience.
* Ability to obtain construction white card.
* In-depth understanding and experience of switching mechanisms, routing protocols, transmission protocols, routing, and troubleshooting of networks.
* Good understanding of virtualisation, SDN, Linux OS and desirably exposure to open source technologies.
* Possess a basic understanding of Layer-3 packet encryption, load balancing, network aggregation and network security.
* Ability to undertake and document network designs, lead project design reviews, engineering assessments and investigations of complex networks.
Desirable Requirements:
* Degree in ICT Networking or Communications Engineering
* Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) Enterprise
* Fortigate (Fortinet Certified Associate) or better
* Formal Cybersecurity training
