Defence and Maintenance Professional
We are seeking experienced defence engineering professionals to join our team in Perth and support maritime sustainment programs across 2025 and 2026.
Your work at BMT will have a direct impact on national defence and security. You will be an essential part of the intricate system that safeguards our country and ensures the safety of our maritime assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing maintenance schedules and plans for vessels.
* Managing and coordinating a workforce of supervisors, planners, and subcontractors.
* Overseeing the cost, schedule, and quality performance of maintenance packages.
* Coordinating with key customer staff, OEMs, and other external stakeholders.
* Managing emergent and defect rectification tasks during availabilities.
* Applying expertise in areas including but not limited to:
o Maintenance Management and Scheduling
o Asset Management
o Supply Chain Assurance and Optimization
o Procurement, Logistics, and Inventory Analysis
About the Role:
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Proven experience and leadership in large-scale defence or maritime maintenance projects.
* Tertiary qualification in engineering, maintenance management, or an equivalent trade background.
* Strong planning, scheduling, and contractor management skills.
* Familiarity with vessel sustainment practices and shipyard operations.
* A strong understanding of WHS, security, and environmental standards.
* The ability to hold and maintain an active Australian Baseline Defence Security Clearance or above.
