Overview
Are you a proactive HR professional who thrives on being the "face" of people operations? We are partnering with a global leader in the industrial sector to find a dynamic HR Advisor to support their Queensland employees. This is a rare opportunity to own the HR function on the ground in Brisbane while being supported by a structured, national people team.
As the sole HR representative on-site, you will act as the primary point of contact for a diverse workforce of both white- and blue-collar professionals. You will be the "boots on the ground" across three key sites in Brisbane, ensuring that leadership and staff have high-touch, face-to-face support. Reporting to a Victoria-based HR leader, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy to drive a high-performance culture across three main sites.
Responsibilities
* Providing dedicated HR support and guidance to business leaders across multiple Brisbane locations to ensure the effective management of their teams.
* Coaching leaders on best practices for hiring, developing, and retaining a talented workforce to drive customer success.
* Acting as a subject matter expert by advising on the application of policies, interpreting industrial awards, and managing internal investigations when required.
* Regular face-to-face engagement with managers to provide proactive advice on change management, compensation, and talent assessments.
* Collaborate with the broader regional and global HR team to deliver integrated results in workforce planning and learning development.
* In partnership with the Regional Talent Manager, facilitate talent mapping, succession planning, and both local and global employee mobility.
* Executing business-specific strategies and implementing talent management initiatives across the Queensland operations.
* Lead the deployment of continuous improvement projects related to HR systems and process integration within the region.
* Conduct market analysis and benchmark best practices for potential local implementation.
Ideal Candidate
* Be a resilient HR professional who enjoys the variety of a site-based role.
* Have a degree in Human Resources, Economics, or Business and bring at least 5+ years of relevant HR experience.
* Have a proven track record of interpreting Australian employment law, WH&S legislation, and manufacturing awards.
* Have experience within the manufacturing, construction, rail, or engineering industries.
* Have an exceptional ability to influence, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, as well as external service providers.
* Be autonomous and have a high level of independence, ideally having experience as a HR professional in a similar environment (stand alone or lean HR team).
* Have experience with HRIS systems - ideally Workday - and a personal motivation for upskilling in AI.
