Job Description
Southside Superior Contract Painting is a Queensland-based painting company servicing Brisbane's Southside and surrounding areas, with work spanning residential, commercial, interior, exterior and roof painting projects. The business is looking for an experienced Painter who can contribute to a wide variety of painting projects and help maintain the high standards for which the company is known. The successful applicant will work across residential and commercial sites and will be responsible for delivering quality workmanship in a safe, efficient and professional manner. Role – Painter | Southside Superior Contract Painting - Yatala, QLD Key responsibilities include:
* Liaising professionally with supervisors, team members and clients on site to ensure smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction
* Monitoring finish quality throughout the job and carrying out touch-ups or corrections to meet presentation standards
* Inspecting surfaces and identifying cracks, holes, peeling paint, water damage or other defects that require repair before coating application
* Carrying out minor repairs to timber surfaces, trims, doors, frames and related painted elements to ensure a sound and even finish
* Preparing and painting roof surfaces using suitable techniques and coatings designed for durability and weather resistance
* Preparing interior, exterior, roof and commercial surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching and priming as required
* Protecting surrounding fixtures, flooring, furniture and adjacent surfaces by setting up drop sheets, coverings, masking and other protective materials before work begins
* Setting up and using ladders, access equipment and scaffolding safely to complete painting works at various heights
* Applying paints, sealers, primers, varnishes, stains and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment to achieve high-quality finishes
* Completing commercial painting works in a manner that minimises disruption to clients and supports efficient project delivery
* Assisting with wallpaper removal, wall preparation and finishing tasks where required for refurbishment projects
* Mixing and preparing paints and coatings to the required consistency, finish and colour specifications for each project
* Following workplace health and safety procedures, using materials appropriately, and working in accordance with company and industry standards
* Performing minor glazing-related or frame touch-up work where this is necessary to complete painting and maintenance tasks
* Undertaking minor wall or tiled surface touch-up and repair work where relevant to the overall presentation of the property
* Maintaining tools, spray units, rollers, brushes and other equipment in clean and serviceable condition
* Cleaning work areas thoroughly at the completion of each job and ensuring sites are left tidy and presentable
* Supporting the business in delivering reliable turnaround times, strong workmanship and a positive client experience on every project
Skills and qualifications
* At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Painter
* An AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field

What we offer
* Full-time employment with stable hours (38 hours per week)
* Competitive salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation
