BoP Engineer - BESS

The BoP Engineer is an exciting role providing support for the Australian Sales Engineering team and extending support for the coordination, harmonization, and support of tendering and procurement processes, analyse and support bidding strategies and design, methods, tools, best practices, and key performance indicators for the Australian market. Suitable for dynamic and strong candidates, this role requires quick learning, strong and can-do attitude.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor BOP electrical, civil, and construction activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
* Develop, review, and optimize electrical, civil, and construction designs and methodologies to improve constructability, cost, and schedule performance.
* Prepare and manage technical specifications, RFQs, and scopes of work for EPCs, subcontractors, and vendors, including substations and EHV works.
* Define and coordinate division of responsibilities between civil, electrical, and construction partners to ensure clear ownership and execution.
* Manage equipment selection, design optimization, and supplier engagement to meet project performance and commercial targets.
* Serve as the technical and commercial interface between clients, sales, project teams, contractors, and vendors.
* Lead BOP contractor evaluation, bid management, risk assessment, and mitigation planning to support system integration and project delivery.
* Ensure compliance with codes, QA/QC standards, safety, and technical requirements while supporting construction execution and issue resolution.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3–8 years of experience in electrical design, civil construction, and complex project delivery.
* 1–3 years of experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems or related renewable energy projects.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships across all levels, including C-level stakeholders.
* Demonstrated client focus and sales acumen, with the ability to analyze information and present strong business cases.
* Experience working in dynamic, multi-cultural teams and navigating complex matrix organizations.
* Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
