About therole:
Joinheadspace Emerald as a Youth Peer Worker – First Nations(Identified)and help create a culturally safe, welcomingspace for First Nations youth to access mental health and wellbeingsupport.
In thisunique role, you'll use your lived experience to build trust,foster cultural pride, and encourage young people to engage withheadspace services. You'll work in a non-clinical capacity,supporting group programs, community events, and transitions in andout of care.
What will a typical day look like?
* Support FirstNations young people through culturally appropriate peerengagement.
* Co-design andco-facilitate programs and group activities within thecentre.
* Promote headspaceservices and First Nations programs at communityevents.
* Collaborate withthe Community Engagement Worker and broader team.
* Uphold highstandards of privacy, cultural safety, and professionalpractice.
MandatoryRequirements:
* Certificate IV inYouth Worker/Community Services orequivalentor working toward this qualification(proof of enrolment required).
* Relevant peerexperience

* Astrong communicator, able to quickly build rapport andinfluence across a diverse range of people.

* Ability to obtain aBlue Card (working with children check positive notice orexemption)
* Ability to obtain aYellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemptionnotice)
