Job Title: General Practitioner FIFO - Middlemount, Queensland.
Work Details:
* Fifty percent family orientated patient base with a strong focus on treating children and their parents.
* Treatment of visiting farmers, as well as occasional medicals for mine workers who are living in town.
* On average, the doctor sees three to four patients per hour.
* Flexible working hours are available, but the clinic does close for lunch each day.
* The work pace is described as slow.
* The doctor will be required to perform coal board medicals, but the nurse generally handles this task.
* The nurse may require short qualifications to assist in certain areas.
* The doctor must be prepared to hold the phone for after-hours calls, but home visits are not necessary as the ambulance service is readily available.
* The doctor can expect to see two to four chronic disease management (CDM) patients daily, all managed by the nurse.
Practice Information:
* A solo GP practice with full-time receptionists, a Registered Nurse, an Enrolled Nurse working under a grant from the NQPHN, a Phlebotomist, a Chronic Care Coordinator working part-time, and a Practice Manager.
* The local Ambulance and paramedic services are located in town, with hospitals approximately one hour away.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Vocationally registered General Practitioner with AHPRA.
