Are you an experienced Creative Director looking for a meaningful leadership role where you can support and shape the future of a well-established design studio? This is a rare opportunity to step into a key leadership role within an independent brand agency that specialises in delivering strategic, human‑centred design across brand, packaging, and identity. As Creative Director, you will lead a multidisciplinary design team, shape the creative direction of the studio, and help maintain the agency’s strong reputation for excellence and innovation. This role has been created as a result of growth and internal evolution, offering the right person the opportunity to step into a stable and forward‑thinking studio environment. This client is known for its strategic thinking, collaborative culture, and high‑level creative output. With a strong foothold in both FMCG and corporate branding, they work with some of Australia’s most recognisable names. Long‑term client relationships mean minimal pitching pressure, and a strong studio culture means long‑term staff retention.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the design team across all creative output – from concept through to execution.

Acting as a champion for strategic, insight‑led design with a focus on relevance, craft, and commerciality.

Collaborating with strategy, operations and account service to deliver seamless, well‑resourced projects.

Mentoring and supporting team development while fostering a positive and inclusive studio culture.

Overseeing the creative process, resource allocation and workflow management alongside the Head of Operations.

Occasionally contributing hands‑on where needed to uphold design standards and meet deadlines.

Driving the agency’s award program participation and creative reputation within the industry.

What You Bring

10+ years of experience in brand and packaging design, ideally in FMCG and corporate settings.

Proven leadership experience within a branding or design agency.

Strong conceptual skills and strategic understanding, paired with excellent craft and execution.

Confidence in presenting to clients and guiding teams through feedback and refinement.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Mac‑based); Miro or similar tools a bonus.

Calm, collaborative and commercially astute approach to problem solving.

Hybrid work model (3 days onsite in St Kilda, 2 days remote).
