Seeking a very senior, highly client-facing Design Manager to lead the design delivery of premium workplace projects across Melbourne.
This is a pivotal leadership role within the studio, suited to someone who thrives in front of clients, understands workplace strategy and design deeply, and can confidently drive projects from early test fits through to construction documentation.
As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the full design process across workplace fit-out projects, acting as the key design lead while working closely with internal Project Managers (who manage construction delivery).
This is not a construction management role — your focus is purely on design excellence, technical accuracy and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and prepare test fits and early feasibility studies
* Develop and produce high-quality concept packs and client presentations
* Create compelling 3D renders and visual material
* Present designs confidently to clients and stakeholders
* Lead detailed documentation in Revit (and occasionally AutoCAD)
* Review and coordinate shop drawings during construction phase
* Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure seamless project outcomes
* Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
* Very senior-level experience in workplace design
* Proven experience delivering commercial workplace fit-outs (essential)
* Strong client-facing presence — confident leading meetings and presentations
* Advanced Revit proficiency (documentation capability is critical)
* Strong design eye with the ability to translate strategy into built outcomes
* Experience reviewing shop drawings and maintaining design integrity through delivery
* Highly autonomous, organised and proactive
Workplace project experience is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
