Step into a legacy of excellence with our Metro Field Service team, based out of our Laverton, or Clayton branch on a 7x7 roster, where innovation meets the open road. We're on the hunt for a trade-qualified Field Service Diesel Technician – someone ready to roll up their sleeves, hit the road, and get hands-on with some of the toughest machinery on earth.
As part of our field service team, you won’t just be turning spanners – you’ll be the front line of support for our customers. From diagnostics to major repairs, you’ll bring CAT equipment back to life, wherever the job takes you – on site, in the paddock, or out in the bush.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your typical day will include:
- Onsite technical troubleshooting and fault finding including; diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on Cat equipment and their components; hydraulics, transmissions and engines
- Providing outstanding customer service to our loyal customers
- Compiling and completing accurate reporting
- Working autonomously to manage your time and maximise efficiency
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Liaising with our internal service and parts department
- Maintaining a William Adams service vehicle
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Qualified Diesel Technician with experience on Caterpillar machines (preferred)
- 2+ years experience working in a Field Service role (preferred)
- Have advanced mechanical diagnostic skills with Cat computer diagnostics knowledge (great to have)
- A proactive and positive attitude, with strong work ethic
- A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
- Hold a current Drivers Licence
- Proven ability to be self-motivated and to work unsupervised
