Your new role
As a Grade 8 Records Officer (APS6 equivalent), you will play a key role in supporting effective records and information management across the organisation. This is a 3-month labour hire contract with the view for extension, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute your records expertise in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Working closely with senior records staff, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the records function, ensuring records are captured, maintained and disposed of in line with legislative requirements and organisational policies.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing both electronic and hard copy records in line with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW)
* Assisting with administration and maintenance of the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS/ECM)
* Registering, scanning, filing, retrieving and archiving records
* Supporting records training for new and existing staff, including system inductions
* Assisting with records sentencing, disposal and transfers in line with approved authorities
* Responding to internal customer enquiries and supporting information access requests in line with GIPA legislation
* Maintaining confidentiality, security and integrity of information
* Providing high-quality customer service to staff across the organisation
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Previous experience in records management, information management or a similar role
* Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to records management, particularly within a government environment
* Experience working with Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (ECM/EDRMS)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
* Well-developed organisational and time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* A customer-focused approach and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* A current Class C driver’s licence
