About Our Client Our client is a large organisation in the shipping and freight industry, known for its expertise in providing efficient and reliable services. Job Description Key Responsibilities Asset Reliability & Performance
* Develop, maintain, and refine lifecycle and reliability plans for major terminal equipment, including automated cranes, shuttle carriers, and port machinery.
* Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures.
* Utilise condition monitoring data, equipment history, and performance trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintenance Planning & Execution Support
* Collaborate closely with Planning and Execution Superintendents to schedule, prioritise, and coordinate maintenance activities, including statutory works.
* Support short and long term maintenance scheduling across all terminal assets to minimise operational disruption.
Engineering & Technical Oversight
* Provide engineering guidance on mechanical, electrical, and control system reliability issues associated with automated terminal operations.
* Support equipment overhaul programs and reliability focused projects using RCM methodologies.
* Work with OEMs and contractors to improve component performance, parts availability, and the quality of repair and overhaul works.
Data, Reporting & Governance
* Maintain accurate asset reliability records, inspection reports, and failure data to support engineering decision making.
* Prepare reliability reports, performance dashboards, and improvement recommendations for the Engineering Manager.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all maintenance and engineering activities.
The Successful Applicant Skills & Experience Essential
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or heavy industrial asset management – ideally within ports, mining, logistics, or other 24/7 operational environments.
* Strong knowledge of:
o Reliability‐centred maintenance (RCM) methodologies
o Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools
o Condition Monitoring techniques
o Lifecycle and asset management frameworks
* Ability to interpret technical data, maintenance history, and equipment performance trends to make informed decisions.
* Experience working with contractors, OEMs, and cross‐functional stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and report‐writing skills, with strong problem‐solving capability.
Desirable
* Familiarity with automated terminal equipment (e.g., ASC systems, quay cranes, shuttle carriers).
* Experience in high‐reliability or semi‐automated industrial settings.
