The role & responsibilities: We are seeking a full-time Store Leader eager to advance their career by overseeing a passionate team at The Athletes Foot Cairns Store.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader looking to progress in retail. The successful candidate will work closely with the Area Manager to drive high performance, successful people management, and operational initiatives.
The role also involves engaging in local community activations, partnering with sporting events, and managing relationships with healthcare professionals. This is not a typical retail role; much of the work involves activities outside the store to promote brand growth.
To be successful, you should have experience in:
* Ensuring efficient store operations to meet sales targets, KPIs, store presentation, visual merchandising, stock levels, wage control, and shrinkage
* Motivating your team to achieve KPI and added value targets
* Monitoring sales to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals, recognizing achievements and addressing missed opportunities
* Managing wage costs in line with weekly targets and rostering standards
* Coaching and mentoring team members to maintain high morale and support their development through training and succession planning
* Ensuring compliance with OH&S legislation and best practices

Qualifications & skills:
* Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or Senior Assistant Store Manager in a fast-paced environment
* A motivated, proactive attitude with a ‘Make it Happen’ mindset
* A passion for leading and inspiring teams
* Strong strategic thinking and sales-driving abilities
* Operational expertise in stock control and visual merchandising
* Experience managing rosters and wage budgets
* Ability to build strong relationships within the organization
