Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in local government? This Public Sector client plays a vital role in delivering value for our community through strategic and efficient procurement practices.
As the Procurement Officer, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies. You'll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to support timely and cost-effective purchasing while upholding transparency and integrity.

* Manage and coordinate procurement activities in line with council objectives and procurement policy
* Develop and maintain supplier relationships
* Prepare and evaluate tenders, RFQs, and contracts
* Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices
What you'll need to succeed
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement
* Proven experience working within a local government setting
* Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks, legislation, and policies relevant to local government
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* High attention to detail and the ability to work independently
