Volunteer Retail Assistant
The Salvation Army's Salvos Stores operate a retail arm where volunteers support fundraising activities. Volunteers assist customers, process donated goods, maintain store cleanliness, and uphold the organization's values. This is a volunteer (unpaid) position for individuals aged 15 years and older.
What You'll Be Doing
* Greet customers warmly and create a positive shopping experience.
* Answer customer inquiries and provide helpful information.
* Support the Donor Care program, receiving and handling donated goods.
* Assess condition of donated items, price them according to guidelines, and record them.
* Stock and display items on the sales floor, maintaining neatness and visual merchandising.
* Clean the sales floor, items, and staff areas regularly.
* Follow waste management and sustainable practices.
* Ensure safety for customers, visitors, and staff by following work‐practice guidelines.
* Maintain health and safety practices for self and others.

Requirements
* Minimum age 15 years.
* Volunteer must be able to work in a retail environment and support teams.
* Please note: all volunteer positions may require a Working with Children Check and, where applicable, a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
