At Geelong Grammar School, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Logistics Tradesperson to join our Facilities Maintenance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Facilities and Events Coordinator in coordinating regular events and set-ups throughout the campus. This involves delivering and setting up infrastructure such as BBQs, staging, whiteboards and furniture.
The role also entails ensuring the completion of logistics tasks involving manual handling and conducting energy meter readings.
Maintenance of Facilities Dept storage facilities and compound in relation to goods and material storage, waste management, safety and security is also a key responsibility.
Cleaning of event equipment and fleet vehicles, including reporting on maintenance issues and service requirements is essential.
As part of the Facilities Maintenance team, the successful candidate will work together to maintain buildings and assets using tools and workshop machinery.
This includes service, repair, duplication or manufacture of various building and asset components.
The candidate will also undertake inspections of buildings and assets to identify faults and report findings to ensure timely rectification.
Liaising with and supporting other members of the Facilities team in the coordination of relevant work with external support contractors is necessary.
The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities maintenance and/or construction and possess relevant qualifications such as Cabinet Maker, Joiner, Plasterer, Tiler, Painter or Bricklayer.
A demonstrated understanding of compliance with BCA and OH&S regulations and practices in facilities maintenance and/or construction is essential.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create a customer-focused environment are required.
Fulfillment of physical requirements, with a pre-employment medical assessment may be required.
A current driver's license is also necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated industry-based experience and qualifications (trade qualification) such as Cabinet Maker, Joiner, Plasterer, Tiler, Painter or Bricklayer.
* Relevant experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and on occasion, coordinating small teams.
* Demonstrated understanding and experience ensuring compliance with BCA and OH&S regulations and practices in facilities maintenance and/or construction.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create a customer-focused environment.
* Fulfillment of physical requirements, with a pre-employment medical assessment may be required.
* A current driver's license.
