Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced
Senior ServiceNow Developer
to support a major
federal government ICT program
as part of a large, multi-year digital transformation initiative.
This role is suited to a senior, hands-on ServiceNow professional who enjoys working in complex, regulated environments and delivering high-quality platform solutions that support critical public services.
About the Opportunity
You will work within a federal government CIO function, contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of ServiceNow applications that underpin essential government services.
The role operates within an
agile delivery environment
and supports
hybrid working arrangements

Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and configure solutions on the
ServiceNow platform
* Perform hands-on development using
JavaScript
,
Flow Designer
,
UI Builder
, and
Business Rules
* Enhance and maintain existing ServiceNow applications and modules
* Develop and customise
Service Portal
components, including widgets, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS
* Collaborate with business analysts, service designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into working solutions
* Participate in
agile ceremonies
and contribute to iterative delivery
* Produce technical documentation, including designs, specifications, and knowledge transfer artefacts
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across ServiceNow processes and platform capability
* Stay current with ServiceNow releases and emerging features
Skills & Experience Required
* Demonstrated senior-level experience developing on
ServiceNow
* Strong proficiency in
JavaScript
and ServiceNow configuration
* Experience with
Service Portal development
(widgets, HTML, CSS, AngularJS)
* Experience working in
agile delivery environments
* Familiarity with agile tooling such as
Azure DevOps, Jira, or ServiceNow Agile
* Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions
* Proven experience producing clear, structured technical documentation
* Prior experience in
federal government or large enterprise environments
(highly regarded)
Desirable Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
* ServiceNow certifications, such as:
* Certified Application Developer (CAD)
* CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM, or other CIS certifications
* Flexible skillset with a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies
