Provide Direct support to students
Responsibilities
Undertake evidence based assessments and interventions relating to student mental health, wellbeing and engagement at school.
Provide individual, group and community responses to promote positive mental health, wellbeing and engagement outcomes for students.
Build opportunities for student voice and participation, relating to culture and inclusion within the school setting.
Work with families
Support families and the community with student mental health, wellbeing and engagement at school.
Refer, support engagement, and coordination of services to students and their families when accessing external agencies for support.
Build strong partnerships with families and the school community to promote positive relationships.
Be part of the team
Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member within the school setting.
Participate in inter-agency networks relevant to the social work role.
Build internal and external partnerships to integrate service responses.
Whole of school
Contribute to educational events that encourage awareness and participation by students, parents/carers and the community.
Promote positive physical, psychological, emotional and social health outcomes for students.
Accountability and transparency
Maintain appropriate data collection.
Monitor, evaluate and review the wellbeing programs within schools.
Follow the Department's documentation and record-keeping management procedures.
Engage in supervision and professional development.

As a Social Worker employed with the Department of Education, you will have access to a range of benefits including:
12.75% in employer contributions and the employee contribution rate will default to 5%
