Job Title: Quality Engineer (12 Month Parental Cover) Scope: Local Location: Minto Terms: 12 Months Fixed term, full time, fully onsite, full Australian working rights As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening product quality, food safety and hygiene standards across the site. This is a hands-on opportunity to lead validation and improvement projects across CIP (Clean in Place), COP (Clean Out of Place) and OPC (OLE for Process Control) systems, support digital and automation initiatives, and drive CAPEX and continuous improvement programs that reduce manufacturing failures and improve performance on the shop floor. What you'll be responsible for Support the site in updating and validating Cleaning and Disinfection systems, including CIP, COP and OPC, as well as associated automation systems. Drive continuous improvement and CAPEX projects focused on product quality, equipment hygiene design and reduction of manufacturing failure incidents. Support implementation and maintenance of the site Hygiene Protocol, including equipment hygiene design, GMP hygiene zones, and entry and exit procedures. Lead investigations into quality and manufacturing incidents using structured problem-solving tools, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions. Provide training, and develop or review product verification and validation protocols to support compliance with quality and food safety requirements on the shop floor. Support implementation of digital solutions and site projects that improve quality systems, hygiene performance and operational effectiveness. We're looking for someone who Has a tertiary qualification in Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or a related field. Brings a minimum 4-5 years experience in quality, food safety or manufacturing within the food industry ( ideally in dairy, pharmaceutical or beverage environments ), and can confidently operate on a manufacturing site. Brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, incident investigation capability, and knowledge of HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000 requirements. Has proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Works with initiative, communicates clearly, and can adapt effectively in a fast-moving and changing manufacturing environment. Can work autonomously, prioritise effectively under pressure, and is results-driven Brings strong organisational skills and a focus on high standards.
