Software Engineer
Job Description:
As a Software Engineer on our Policy team, you will play a vital role in shaping the engineering rhythm and culture. You will be responsible for designing and delivering robust and scalable solutions that positively impact architecture and design, coding, deployment, and support.
You will work closely with our Product/UX team to imagine the visual and interaction patterns appropriate for our customers. Additionally, you will own the code you build, supporting debugging and monitoring in production. Your contributions will help us continuously improve the team's ways of working and processes.
* Design and develop high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the overall quality of the codebase.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* 4-5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, Scala, or Python.
* Experience with automated testing, legacy code, and greenfield scenarios.
* Ability to write clean, maintainable code suitable for continuous integration and deployment.
* Familiarity with message-driven systems, web APIs (HTTP/REST/GraphQL), and AI-powered tools to support and enhance engineering tasks.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in collaborative environments.
