Our client is in the remediation and optimisation phase of a major Payroll uplift program. They're looking for a Technical Business Analyst with strong data skills to deep-dive into payroll data, identify gaps, and support compliance and efficiency improvements.
You'll be working with Aurion Payroll (experience ideal, but supported by SMEs) and play a hands-on role in shaping accurate, reliable payroll outcomes for a complex enterprise environment.
About the Role
As the Technical BA, you'll sit at the heart of payroll remediation – digging into data, analysing complex pay rules, and helping the business make confident decisions.
Key responsibilities:
* Analyse large payroll datasets and identify issues or optimisation opportunities
* Write and run SQL queries across high-volume datasets (reports, ETL, data loads)
* Support payroll system remediation within Aurion (experience desirable)
* Build reports and dashboards in Power BI; automate processes using Power Automate
* Partner with SMEs, HR, and Finance to validate outcomes
* Provide insights on compliance with IR/ER frameworks
* Assist with back pay calculations and payroll adjustments
* Translate complex data findings into clear insights for executives
About You
You're a Business Analyst with strong technical and data chops who enjoys working in payroll and compliance-heavy environments. You thrive on making sense of complex data and turning it into action.
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst with strong data analysis skills
* MS SQL – ability to write queries on large datasets, ETL, and data loading
* Experience with Aurion Payroll (highly regarded, SMEs available for support)
* Strong Power BI reporting and Power Automate workflow skills
* Solid understanding of IR/ER rules and payroll compliance obligations
* Experience calculating and validating back pays
* Ability to influence and communicate with executives and senior stakeholders
