The Payroll Lead plays an important role in overseeing and managing the end-to-end payroll function at Nexon, reporting to the General Manager - Finance. The role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll for approximately 600 employees, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

Payroll is processed in-house using SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP). The Payroll Lead will be responsible for the administration and operational management of the payroll system and will act as the primary liaison with the organisation's SAP managed services partner who manages system configuration, enhancements and technical changes.

This position will collaborate closely with the finance team, senior management, HR and department heads to ensure accurate payroll processing and provide timely reporting and insights to support business decision making.

Key Responsibilities
* Payroll Function: Managing the end-to-end payroll cycle for approximately 600 employees on a fortnightly basis (and on occasion Out of Cycle payments) using SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP). Perform associated payroll functions including responding to employee payroll queries, superannuation & tax lodgements, novated leases, long service leave and termination calculations, staff expenses, reconciliation of General Ledger accounts & ensuring correct cost centre allocations. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure the integrity of payroll data and compliance with legislative requirements. This position will be the primary operational contact for the payroll function for the business and will work closely with the organisation's SAP managed services partner who supports system configuration, system issues and enhancements.
* Bonus and Commissions calculations: Work with the SLT to prepare bonus and commissions calculations based on staff KPIs.
* Team Leadership: Manage and develop the payroll staff member, providing guidance, coaching, review and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team while ensuring payroll processes are delivered accurately and on time.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant payroll and tax regulations, laws and industry standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate payroll information to senior management, department heads, and other stakeholders (including external stakeholders such as auditors/ATO/Legal). Provide payroll insights and recommendations to support financial and operational decision making.
* Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness, including supporting improvements and optimisation within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
* Payroll Analysis: Conduct in-depth payroll analysis of actual results to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide accurate and timely reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
* Ad Hoc Activities: from time to time, activities will arise requiring support from Payroll such as updating expense policies or requests from business.
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll roles, with at least 2 years hands on experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Experience in SAP Success Factors mandatory.
* Experience in the technology or managed services industry is highly desirable.
Knowledge
* Strong Payroll Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in the use of payroll systems in a complex environment. Knowledge of ERP software systems and tools (especially Microsoft BC, SAP Success Factor).
* Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and compliance requirements.
* Leadership Skills: Proven track record of supervising staff, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
* Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present payroll information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders including senior stakeholders.
* Team Player: recognising the role is a conduit between Finance and HR.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
