The Company

Our client is a leading Not-For-Profit organisation committed to improving health outcomes across regional communities. Working in partnership with health professionals, service providers, and local stakeholders, the organisation designs and delivers innovative primary health care solutions, fostering a values-driven culture of equity, collaboration, and excellence.


The Role

An opportunity has been created for a visionary leader to join the organisation as the Executive Director – Finance & Governance. This pivotal, newly created role oversees whole-of-organisation financial strategy, governance, compliance, and risk management and also acts as the Company Secretary.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer with 4 direct reports and working in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership team and other key stakeholders, you will lead a high-performing business unit and contribute to the organisation's strategic direction and operational success.

This is a rare chance to shape the financial and governance landscape of a purpose-driven organisation, influence executive decision-making, and drive meaningful change across the Health Sector.


The Key Responsibilities

* Lead the Finance & Governance Business Unit, including Finance, Reporting, Risk, Audit, Legal, and Compliance functions
* Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, Board, and Executive Team
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, capital management, and investment portfolios
* Drive enterprise-wide risk management and business resilience strategies
* Fulfil Company Secretary duties and lead governance frameworks
* Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government departments and funding bodies
* Champion a high-performance culture aligned with organisational values
* Represent the organisation in external forums and governance sub-committees


The Key Requirements

* CPA or CA qualification with 10+ years in senior finance leadership
* Proven experience in governance, risk, and compliance within the not-for-profit or charitable sector
* Strong commercial judgment and ability to interpret complex financial and regulatory information
* Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams with a collaborative and people centered approach
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and build valued partnerships at C-Suite and Board level

Desirable:

* Company Secretary qualification and experience under ACNC and Corporations Act
* Completion of AICD Governance for Directors course
* Postgraduate qualifications in governance or risk
