Aurizon is offering an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in rail through our Operational Maintainer (Rail Shunter) Traineeship in West Kalgoorlie.As a trainee, you'll be part of a structured program where you'll gain practical, hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification in rail operations (shunting).
You'll work alongside experienced team members in a fast-paced environment, developing the skills needed to build a long-term career with Australia's largest rail freight operator.What you'll be doing:Undertaking both classroom and on-the-job trainingSafely loading and unloading customer productsInspecting rollingstock and carrying out minor repairsPerforming brake tests on trainsAssisting with shunting and marshalling operationsCommunicating effectively with depot personnel via radio and in personAbout you:C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)A strong commitment to safetyMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsFlexibility to work day and night shifts (up to 12 hours), including weekendsPlease note that all applicants will be required to undergo psychometric testing, a drug and alcohol test and carry out a criminal history check
