As a Senior Research Agronomist (On-farm Research), you will be integral in mentoring teams and providing extensive knowledge in agronomy and extension, undertaking rigorous and relevant field experiments to overcome soil, nutrient, weed, disease, insect and other agronomic constraints, developing and delivering extension programs.
You must possess a: Bachelor degree or higher in Agricultural Science, Applied Science or Rural Science.
Broadacre dryland crop research and extension experience is highly desirable.
a current 'C' class drivers licence (preferably manual), and desirably hold a truck licence.
You will be required to lead, develop and conduct RD E projects that support Queensland's growers, agronomists and industry researchers with the data and information they need to develop innovative farming practices and systems that are profitable, productive and sustainable.
You will co-design and co-deliver innovative on-farm research that is both rigorous and relevant to the future challenges.
You will develop and deliver theoretically informed extension to facilitate learning and improved decision making, and you will build and lead multidisciplinary project teams, including growers and agronomists, to deliver project outcomes.
You will have an ability and willingness to travel, including overnight, to service research sites in southern Queensland.
You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem-solving skills, with a positive attitude, to contribute to our close-knit and connected team.
