The position of the Support Worker is responsible for supporting individuals and communities affected by disasters under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The role contributes to community recovery by delivering administrative support, promoting resilience, safety and connection. The Support Worker will assist TAIHS patients to attend Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) appointments, assist them to participate in SEWB activities and/or assist with organising and facilitating SEWB Team group activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Travel and provide administrative and other key supports in the Burdekin, Charters Towers, Hinchinbrook and Townsville regions
* Support patients to attend appointments
* Assist to coordinate SEWB Team administrative functions as required
* Conduct client outreach as requested
* Support and facilitate group activities
* Support and facilitate the thorough care of Disaster Recovery Referrals between GP's, mental health services, social support agencies and/or emergency recovery partners
* Liaise with, and support clients to access the services applicable to wellbeing
* Prepare and maintain reports / statistics associated with the role and responsibilities
