Maintenance Fitter – Kraft Heinz
Kraft Heinz is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to ensure the smooth operation and reliability of our machinery and equipment. This role offers a competitive rate and benefits package.
Shift: Flexible across all shifts, including overtime, weekends, and public holidays if necessary.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify faults and carry out breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and production loss.
* Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on plant and equipment.
* Inspect, test, maintain, repair, strip, replace and reassemble mechanical equipment.
* Support machine and product changeovers to maintain efficient line operation.
* Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to improve reliability and performance.
* Maintain and overhaul pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, palletisers, packaging equipment and associated machinery.
* Perform maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of mechanical equipment.
* Carry out general plant and building maintenance as required.
* Support improvement projects, equipment refurbishments and maintenance‐led reliability initiatives.
* Work with planners and site teams to improve PM task lists, work instructions/SMPs, scheduling and parts readiness.
* Complete maintenance records, work orders, reports and system updates accurately and on time.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem‐solving and continuous improvement activities.
* Work in line with all Kraft Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, GMP, HACCP and site procedures.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent trade qualification.
* Previous experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar production environment preferred.
Skills And Experience
* Trade‐qualified Mechanical Fitter with proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience fault‐finding and repairing production and packaging equipment.
* Strong knowledge of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, palletisers and general mechanical systems.
* Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
* Experience with welding and fabrication, including stainless steel, is highly regarded.
* Experience using workshop equipment such as lathes and milling machines is desirable.
* Sound understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Basic electrical awareness, including sensors, timing and machine interfaces, is advantageous.
* Experience using CMMS or other maintenance systems.
* Strong problem‐solving skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach.
* Ability to work autonomously and respond effectively under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Highly Regarded
* Welding qualifications.
* Forklift licence.
* LOTO training or willingness to complete site training.
* Restricted electrical licence.
* Experience with predictive maintenance tools or methods.
* Experience with automation or robotics.
