About the Role
Murwillumbah District Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Unit Manager who will be responsible for the efficient management of nursing and other staff under their delegation, and coordination of nursing care. The Nursing Unit Manager leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals, and is responsible for the environmental and work, health and safety management of the unit.
Responsibilities
* Manage nursing and other staff to ensure efficient unit operation.
* Coordinate nursing care and serve as liaison among health professionals.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, person‐centred, culturally responsive rehabilitation care.
* Ensure effective coordination across the rehabilitation and reablement pathway, supporting safe transitions between acute, subacute, community, and primary care services.
* Oversee environmental, health and safety management of the unit.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold appropriate nursing qualifications, be eligible to work in Australia (citizen or permanent resident), and be able to provide evidence of vaccination as required by NSW Health policy. A probationary period of six months may apply.
