The global Resources Sector is evolving and growing at speed. From assessments through to closure, Jacobs is well placed to support them on that journey.

As the Project Planner & Controls Specialist, you will contribute to overall project plan, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and scheduling as well as project controls services and resources on programs/projects, contributing directly to the management of business risk and positively influencing Jacobs' relationships with clients while identifying opportunities for growth. Key components of this role include undertaking Senior and Lead Project Controls roles on major projects, applying specialized skills, supervising project staff, and contributing to proposal/bid development. You will also contribute to workload planning and management in a Project Controls context, providing leadership for engagement submissions, including pricing and commercial aspects. Additionally, you will promote Jacobs' Project Controls capabilities across various project areas, including strategy, leadership, change management, and business system application.

Key Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section and PU.
* Actively monitor and report on cost, schedule, resource trends, and forecasts on projects/programs, playing a key role in their delivery.
* Develop the overall project plan, including scope, objectives, and deliverables, while identifying key milestones, resources, and constraints.
* Create and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6. Ensure schedules are aligned with project goals and milestones.
* Create comprehensive plans that outline how the project will be executed and controlled.
* Coordinate with project teams to allocate resources efficiently, monitor resource usage and adjust schedules as necessary and track project progress and update schedules accordingly.
* Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation plans as well as conducting schedule impact analyses and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

* Relevant tertiary degree and demonstrated professional experience predominantly within the Mining Resources Sector.
* Advanced experience with Project Controls Systems and software, including extensive experience using Primavera P6 for project scheduling. Ability to perform critical path analysis and identify scheduling conflicts.
* Project Controls and Scheduling experience in large infrastructure, resources market preferred.
* Robust knowledge of international and local engineering methods, applicable codes and specifications associated with resources projects.
* Experience with various aspects of the planning, design and commissioning processes, construction methods and interface requirements of multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience in delivering EPC and/or EPCM projects held in high regard.
* The ability to contribute to engineering and project control elements of studies, projects and proposal teams.
* Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
* A strategic and innovative mindset coupled with the ability to solve complex problems, using strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others.
