Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical (B1 Pathway)
Many great engineers start with a simple curiosity — fixing bikes, pulling apart engines, or helping out in the shed.
If you're someone who enjoys working with your hands and wants a career that's practical, respected, and full of opportunity, aviation maintenance could be the perfect fit.
Whether you're finishing Year 12 or looking for a fresh start as an adult apprentice, we're offering more than just a job.
We're offering above award rates and a pathway into a high-skill, high-responsibility trade that's critical to keeping Australia connected.
What's the journey like?
Hands-on learning: You'll work side-by-side with experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) in our busy hangar.
Study while you work: You'll be enrolled in a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical), gaining the theory needed to become qualified.
Staying on track: You'll complete theory exams to a high standard and maintain a training journal as part of your pathway to becoming licensed.
Where does it lead?
The apprenticeship typically takes around four years to complete, though some may finish sooner depending on progress and prior training.
Once completed, you'll be well on your way to earning your Mechanical B1 licence.
Our aim is to support you to become a full-time Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), building a career that offers real growth, variety, and purpose.
