About The Role
You will work at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, a renowned institution with a rich history of serving diverse communities. Our facilities are world-class, and our staff are dedicated, innovative, and caring.
The MGP midwife will be part of a small team providing continuity of care to approximately 38 women annually. The role involves working on a rotating roster, including on-call shifts, and covering antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal care. Intrapartum care may be provided in the low-risk RPA Birth Centre or the RPA Delivery Unit. Midwives are supported to develop advanced clinical skills such as venepuncture, speculum examination, perineal repair, and newborn assessments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide woman-centred, evidence-informed midwifery care across pregnancy, birth, and postnatal periods.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care collaboratively with women, families, and healthcare teams.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities.
* Ensure quality care and monitor outcomes for assigned women.
* Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
Ideal Candidate
* Registered with AHPRA and available for an on-call roster, including 24/7 shifts.
* Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence (P2 acceptable) and willing to travel as needed.
* Proactive in engaging with women and families to enhance their care experience.
* Experience across the full scope of midwifery practice is desirable.
