Our client, a well-established group Orthopaedic and multi-disciplinary practice located at Greenslopes Private Hospital, is continuing to expand and is excited to be opening a second site in Paddington. Due to this growth, they currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join their team. This is a busy private practice with multiple Surgeons, Allied Health Professionals and Consultant Anaesthetists.
We are looking for candidates who can commit to a full-time permanent position. The successful candidate would be required to work a selection of shifts between the hours of Monday to Friday (7:30am to 5:30pm), 38 hours per week.
The position offers variety and is hands-on, involving the management of day-to-day patient clinics and medical administration at the front desk.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
* Take all incoming telephone calls and assist patient with general enquiries
* Prepare and run patient clinics
* Managing the patient bookings for all clinics and ensuring the specialists are kept updated on any changes to their diary
* Managing all patient correspondence, emails and faxes
* Preparing patient billing and receipting for patient consultations
* Assisting with theatre quotes and booking theatre procedures
* All day-to-day administration support to the Practice Manager and 2 Practice Directors on a day-to-day basis.
To be closely considered for this position you will have the following skills/attributes:
* A minimum of 12 months industry experience working within a private specialist practice (prior exposure to Orthopaedics will be viewed favourably). Candidates from a General Practice or Allied Health setting will also be considered, as full on-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate
* Sound knowledge of Genie software and Eclipse billing platforms (highly regarded but not essential)
* The flexibility to commute and cover rostered shifts across 2 site locations
* Clear and concise communication skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliable, immaculately presented, confident and courteous, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
* A warm and respectful manner when interacting with staff, patients and all medical professionals
* A strong work ethic and the ability to show initiative
* The ability to work well within a small team environment
You will need to demonstrate an exceptional level of commitment to the practice and its patients. You will be highly reliable, efficient and able to work autonomously. Remuneration:
An attractive hourly rate up to $40 p/hour + super will be offered to a suitably experienced candidate along with the opportunity to work within a supportive and well rewarded team.
