About the Role
The Innovation Center (IC) Manager provides leadership and technical direction for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of pilot-scale evaporation and spray drying facilities.
This role ensures that all activities support customer trials, research, and product development while meeting safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Acting as the primary interface between local Technical Sales, Engineering, and Technology teams, the position drives collaboration within our IC team, based in Silkeborg ****-DK.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute customer trials in pilot evaporation/spray drying and fats crystallization facilities, including test design, scheduling, resourcing, and post-trial reporting.
Own day-to-day technical operations of pilot units, utilities, and lab support equipment; drive continuous improvement and ensure uptime, reliability, and safe operating conditions.
Manage a team of 3 people: test engineer, technician and a lab technician.
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with local Technical Sales, Engineering, and Technology teams to ensure that the IC meets customers needs and evolves according to demands; act as the primary interface for trial objectives, scope, and outcomes.
Maintain regular communication and alignment with the Silkeborg IC team; share schedules, trial learnings, SOPs and improvement roadmaps.
Manage budgets and CAPEX/OPEX for new projects to maintain the facility innovative and efficient solutions.
Translate product requirements (food and chemical applications) into test parameters; advise on feasibility and risk.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years in R&D in food and/or chemicals products, in managerial capacity.
Solid understanding of processing systems and energy installations.
Familiarity with evaporation and spray drying processes preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with Tech Sales, Engineering, and Technology teams.
Proven track record in coordinating cross-functional projects.
Comfortable with documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
Basic budgeting and cost control experience (CAPEX/OPEX).
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
