Commi Chef 
to join the award-winning team at 
Shiki 
, where every plate is a celebration of tradition, technique, and exceptional taste. 
Your day-to-day 
As 
Commi Chef 
at Shiki, you'll play a vital role in delivering authentic and unforgettable dining experiences. Reporting to our Chef de Cuisine, you'll be responsible for: 
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality Japanese cuisine, such as teppanyaki, sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes. 
Skillfully work on the Teppanyaki grill to create memorable experiences. 
Take ownership of your workstation mise en place – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste. 
Keep your work area clean and follow all food safety and hygiene requirements to HACCP standards. 
Work as a team with chefs and waitstaff to give guests an excellent dining experience. 
Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. 
What We need from you 
The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts. 
Previous experience working on the Teppanyaki grill. 
Similar experience in a commercial kitchen – preferably within premium casual dining at a minimum. 
Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider. 
A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations including your food safety certificate. 
Great communication – you'll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to. 
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload. 
Right to legally work full time in Australia. 
The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg (50 lbs), which can also involve bending and kneeling.
