Period of Appointment
The role is on a fixed-term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for two years.
Duties
Recognise, interpret, map, and monitor natural hazards within the Tasmanian landscape, particularly landslides.
Enter data into relevant databases and contribute to periodic updating of the state-wide landslide and geomorphological mapping.
Contribute to the production of scientifically sound reports and maps on natural hazards and landscape evolution.
Complete an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution in geology, geomorphology, or engineering-geology.
Hold a current full driver's licence.
Pass a medical examination covering stereoscopic and colour vision, and physical fitness suitable for accessing difficult terrain.
Possess a graduate qualification in engineering-geology, geomorphology, or geology with an emphasis on natural hazards.
Have professional experience in natural hazards research and consulting, particularly in slope stability.
Proficiency with GIS and other spatial software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
